Statement #53

Student Success Statement
“Nothing in the world can take place of persistence.
TAlENT will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
GENIUS will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb
EDUCATION will not; the world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan ‘Press on’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”

President Calvin Coolidge
30th president of US (1872-1933)

Reflection: I believe what he is trying to say is

that persistence is the answer to everything, no

matter what the problem is. It is important that we

will remember so that when we have a problem

we know what to do.
